Loma Linda University’s School of Public Health (LLU SPH) was host to 1 of 6 national workshops sponsored by the Association for Prevention Teaching and Research (APTR). The Workshop was geared towards providing an in depth look at the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) model as a means of impacting social change to improve the lives of individuals and the health of communities nationwide. Produced by PPHTC school partner Loma Linda University, Designs for Health brings current public health problems and topics into the classroom and on television. Public health experts present their findings from the various areas of the discipline each week.

Presentations are recorded on Tuesdays from 12 to 1 p.m. at Loma Linda Broadcasting Network (LLBN) and video conferenced to the School of Public Health (Nichol Hall, Room 1610).

The fourth in the Center’s Science & Society conference series, this conference highlighted the latest place-, race-, and poverty-based research, as well as strategies and interventions to reduce health inequities. It was an extremely exciting, affirming, and energetic conference.
